Dental Coverage and Plans
Dental care is a covered service for eligible Medicaid members who are pregnant or qualify for Child Health Evaluation and Care (CHEC).
Dental coverage is provided through Utah Medicaid’s Fee for Service Network or a dental plan.
Fee for Service Network:
Members living in counties other than Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah will receive services through the Fee for Service Network (any dental provider that accepts Medicaid). If using the Find a Dentist tool above, select “UT MEDICAID Not Managed Care” in the benefit plan drop down menu.
Members who live in Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah counties will receive services through a dental plan. A dental plan is a group of dentists you must use for your dental care. If eligible members do not choose a dental plan, one will be assigned for them. You will need to stay with the dental plan you choose or that is assigned to you until the next annual open enrollment, mid-May to mid-June for a July 1st start date.
The Medicaid dental plans are Delta Dental and Premier Access. Both dental plans offer and pay for the same services. The plans may have different dentists to see for dental care. You must see a dentist that accepts your dental plan. Call your dental plan or go to their website to find a dentist in your area.

Verifying Medicaid Coverage
It is critical for all Medicaid members to show their Medicaid member card to every provider BEFORE receiving any type of service.
