Below please find some recent Member updates:
Medicaid and CHIP Eligibility: In response to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, Utah Medicaid will not close any Medicaid or CHIP cases that were eligible as of March 18, 2020. These cases, or members, will continue to receive benefits through the end of this emergency period. Members will be notified at that time if their case will change or close.
Adult Expansion Medicaid Members: Due to COVID-19, Medicaid has suspended the Community Engagement requirement. Medicaid members do not need to register for work and do not need to complete the assessment, training programs, or job searches. All cases, or members, will continue to receive benefits through the end of this emergency period. More information about this change can be found here.
CHIP Premiums: CHIP premiums will be waived during this emergency period and CHIP members will not be required to pay their quarterly premium. Additionally, all CHIP cases will remain open unless the member requests for their case to be closed, they move out of the state, qualify for Medicaid coverage or the child passes away. Any premiums collected during this emergency period will be refunded to the member.
