Hybrid Unified Preferred Drug List

Hybrid Unified Preferred Drug List (PDL) policy to begin on January 1, 2026.

Hybrid Unified PDL policy is now live!

Starting January 1, 2026, Utah Medicaid began using the new Hybrid Unified Preferred Drug List (PDL). This change happened because the Utah legislature passed a new law during the 2025 General Legislative Session.

What is the Hybrid Unified PDL?

Utah Medicaid and all of the managed care plans (like Health Choice Utah, Healthy U, Molina, and Select Health) now use the exact same list of preferred medications. It's a single, combined list of approved drugs called the Hybrid Unified PDL.

Why was it created?

To help the state save money on medication costs.

Who uses it?

Utah Medicaid and all the managed care plans that manage Medicaid coverage.
