Dyadic Services
Provider Information on Dyadic Services
Dyadic services are preventative services that treat the child and parent or caregiver together as one unit so long as the dyadic service is for the direct benefit of the child. Services rendered are billed under the child’s EPSDT benefit plan. Services address developmental and behavioral health conditions of the child, coordination of care, child social-emotional health and safety, developmentally appropriate parenting and maternal mental health through the following services:
Dyadic Behavioral Health (DBH) Well-Child Visits: A behavioral health-focused visit for the child and parent or caregiver that are distinct from, but intended to be coordinated with, the standard medical well-child visit. It includes screenings for behavioral health, interpersonal safety, substance use, and social determinants of health (SDOH) for the dyad.
Dyadic Comprehensive Community Support Services: Services are designed to assist the dyad in gaining access to necessary medical, social, educational, and other health-related services. This service is delivered through universal peer support services and age-specific targeted case management for members 0-8 years old.
Dyadic Psychoeducational Services: Psychosocial rehabilitative services and therapeutic behavioral services, provide targeted education and skill-building to foster mental health stability and long-term resilience. These planned, structured interventions aim to mitigate the development or escalation of behavioral health conditions.
Dyadic Family Training and Counseling for Child Development: Brief counseling interventions focus on pediatric behavioral health, developmentally appropriate parenting strategies, and the enhancement of dyadic interactions. Services are designed to improve family functioning.
